How to Keep Your Guests Comfortable at an Outdoor Wedding

An outdoor wedding ceremony is a great idea if you’re looking for a spacious venue, natural lighting, and picturesque scenery for this life milestone. Still, planning one may be quite challenging as you have to consider factors that will affect your guests’ experience, such as bugs, and harsh weather elements. It’s essential to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable time for guests during your big day. So, here are some tips to help you:
Choose Your Venue Wisely
The outdoor elements can be unpredictable, so it’s crucial to choose the right venue for your wedding. Consider the potential weather conditions on that day and make decisions based on that. For instance, if it will be extremely hot, choose a venue where a shaded lounge area is accessible for guests.
Besides that, consider the number of attendees. Doing so will ensure there’s enough space at the wedding location to accommodate all your guests and allow them to walk around and mingle comfortably.
Provide Different Warming or Cooling Options
Depending on the season your ceremony will be held in, it’s best to prepare essentials that will keep your guests warm or cool. For the summer, prepare cooling fans, hand fans, and even parasols or umbrellas to help guests escape the heat. Meanwhile, for colder months, you can provide blankets, heaters, or even scarves that would go well with your outdoor wedding theme.
Offer Bug Repellent and Sunscreen
Dealing with bugs and the sun’s harsh rays is unavoidable during outdoor ceremonies. So, keep your guests protected by having bug repellent and sunscreen available. You may also prepare these in tiny dispensers with labels that match your wedding concept, so they can double as lovely souvenirs.
Prepare a Refreshment Table
Another way to keep your guests cozy is to have various drinks and treats available. Instead of simply serving water to quench their thirst, why not take it up a notch and offer fruit-infused drinks, fruit juices, or even cocktails? Since there won’t be any tables around, it’s ideal to prepare simple finger foods. Some examples are charcuterie boards, popcorn chicken, tea sandwiches, and mini desserts.
