The Best Way to Get Ready for Spring Projects….Relax at Starlight Canyon!

We are closing in on the first day of spring! The spring equinox is on March 20th but, we have already noticed the sun staying with us a little longer each day. At Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast, Wedding and Event Venue we are preparing for the season of new growth. We will be getting our gardens cleaned out and ready for the summer. This is spring cleaning at its best, and folks all over will be tackling their own projects. Our favorite home-keeper and general lifestyle guru Martha Stewart put together a comprehensive list of spring cleaning projects that will get you on the right track. But before we get ahead of ourselves, how should one prepare to get started on this annual task? Let us make a suggestion. Book a stay at Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast. What better way to get focused than to come relax in one of our four beautiful cabins? Each one has its own unique charm and each one has its own private hot tub. When the task of spring cleaning seems daunting, step away from it. We understand that a getaway is just what many folks need to charge up the batteries and get ready for spring.
While planning a getaway at Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast, we recommend you look at our many add-on enhancements for your stay. One in particular is our candle light dinner for two. This is pampering to the max! Our vision for the candle light dinner is to prepare our guests an amazing, delicious, four course dinner served in a setting unique to Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast. This dinner is so wonderful many guests come back again and again. The dinner is prepared in our kitchen by Nate and Liz, then served in one of the most romantic settings you can imagine. If the weather is nice, we love to set up a table for two out on our gazebo. Our trees are wrapped with lights and lawn just glows. You really feel like you’re in a fairy tale. If it’s cool or if our guests would rather eat indoors we set up and intimate table in our historic main lodge. Our lodge was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corp. The spot where Starlight Canyon is located was originally going to be a Texas State Park, and they used locally sourced stone to build the walls. Inside, the large wood trusses are a signature of the style used in parks built during this time. For our table in the lodge we light a fire in our fireplace and guests enjoy an atmosphere totally unique to Starlight Canyon and unique to Texas. For the menu, we offer three choices for the main course and we change it up from time to time. One thing you can count on is the mouthwatering, grilled rib-eye chef Nate prepares. Many of the guests that have enjoyed this steak say it is one of the best steaks they have ever had.
